Strategic Platform 4

Technological advancements are transforming the bone health research landscape.

Researchers today rely on shared technologies that make discovery faster and more collaborative. At OsNET, we will promote technologies like online platforms, data tools, and open-source resources to help researchers team up, share ideas, and uncover breakthroughs together that wouldn’t be possible alone.

This team aims to:

  • Foster a collaborative culture and promote the sharing of expertise and resources.
  • Establish best practices for the collection of participant information using validated instruments/questionnaires.
  • Create an inventory of technologies and tools, including hardware and software, to facilitate collection and analysis of high-quality data.
  • Align our data collection processes and build a national resource list to unlock unprecedented opportunities to support large-scale, collaborative research in Canada—including groundbreaking multi-centre trials.

2025-26 Focus

To upgrade member profiles, making it easier for OsNET members to connect, collaborate, and network.

Explore federated learning frameworks to enable secure, privacy-preserving collaboration across Canadian institutions without sharing raw data. This approach will allow multi-centre studies to leverage distributed datasets while maintaining compliance with ethical and legal standards.
