Our Purpose
To foster collaboration among patients, trainees, scientists, healthcare professionals, and bone health organizations, to advance bone research & turn this knowledge into action to improve the bone health of Canadians.

What Fuels Us
We have seen the devastating impact of bone conditions on Canadians.
We are passionate about improving the lives of children and adults living with these conditions. And we know bone health research is crucial to helping us achieve this.
This bone health network was officially launched in 2024 & we believe it is poised to advance bone health in Canada.
Our efforts are focused on the following goals:
At OsNET, we’re uniting Canada’s bone-health community to drive innovative research, share data openly, empower patient-partnered discovery, and equip the next generation of scientists to advance bone research across the life span – building Canada’s global leadership in the field.
Everything we do is guided by a commitment to: inclusion, patient engagement, collaboration, and mentorship.
Inclusion

Identify and establish an inclusive, diverse network of collaborative and innovative multidisciplinary scientific expertise across our nation in bone health. This will create an enduring and sustainable platform for partnerships and enrich Canada’s international leadership in the field.
Patient Engagement

Generate and mobilize new knowledge by Canadian bone health researchers by co-developing research with patient partners and knowledge users, covering the spectrum from basic science to population health. These areas of study will include the entire lifespan from growth and development to an aging population.
Collaboration

Provide a foundation in Canada for sharing data, open science, and harmonizing data across studies in bone health research. Through sharing resources, technology platforms, and promoting transdisciplinary collaborations we will improve best practices and support of research studies, including clinical trials and real-world evidence.
Mentorship

Create a mentorship environment that is diverse and inclusive, with representation from across the country, supporting trainees and young faculty career progression to establish the next generation of scientists to lead bone health research in Canada.
OsNET is powered by three interconnected groups — the Leadership Team, the Executive Committee, and the External Advisory Board. Each brings a distinct strength, and together they fuel strong leadership, strategic guidance, and expert insight to drive OsNET’s purpose forward.
